flair

it should be a great
day seeing a Goth
couple combing the
busy beach
he in a black
trench sand clinging to
his shoe laces like bur
she dragging their
daughter lugging a pink really
loud pink doll as big and
chipper as she
the kids playing beach
football stopped knocking
about as the couple trundles on
how did i hone
this talent this flair
for gloom and doom
while the sun congenial to
everyone else i with a cold
beer in my hand brew
under the cabana
unexcused unexplained

Bronx story

twenty four minutes into Yasujiro Ozu’s masterpiece or is it twenty eight it’s all i could take switched over to the news back home another jobless guy tried to jump what dissuaded him not to off quezon bridge in quiapo the news reader racked by a coughing fit drained me had to go out to get coffee it’s half past six in the evening and the strings of sunlight bounces from the terra cotta tiles clinging to the tiredest building in the block hoping for some freshening up an incongruous pile of grey stones in front of the coffee house sponging off the remaining daylight

Pokemon

Blue the color beguiles
Me today as in
The blue of the sky runs
Into evenfall or
Is it run now
That I am enamored
With as in a
Pink jigglypuff it's
Skin stretchy and rub
Berry runs its lullaby to
Put it's enemy to sleep
A deep blue sleep

Where

Does love
Go when
You don't need
It anymore
Does it just
Stew there like
The moon when strings
Of clouds
Parade before it
Or does it bruise
Like an exiting
Storm
An otherwise
Perfect afternoon

Nap

The afternoon heavy
Folds itself
Into the humid
Pocket of a dream
Yellow crested king
Fishers feasting on
A ball of sardines
A newly hatched
Turtle finds its sea
Legs
Lunges towards
The waves before
A lazy eagle decides
To circle above
the salty spray
