Weighted with death
the world is a mess, what with the rains and all. it is unbearable to watch it like watching a relative being told a loved one died or maimed from some horrific accident. even the bus ride home is unendurable. first, it’s this african woman who took an hour just to settle herself down in a bus chair as she is all wrapped up in this cloud of crisp and loud textiles. then this methadone client, who without bothering to pay his fare, immediately went to sleep in a seat near the driver, his head dropping immediately to his lap as if weighted with death.
