Sweet Time

john mayer, that intrepid hunter of the “joshua tree of vaginas,” is apparently a smiler.  he took to twitter after miley cyrus’ saturday night live appearance to praise the former disney star’s new album, calling it “a masterwork of whack genius.”  “we never get to see ourselves sleeping peacefully next to the ones we love,” mayer quoted one of miley’s new tracks.  i had my john mayer moment this morning too. i was egregiously late to work and it wasn’t because of some monumentally compelling reason. i just woke up late. woke up, in fact, to a song by a now retired british r&b artist who rose to popularity in the 90’s with this one joint. “you gotta be bad/ you gotta be bold.”  the boss, as he always does somehow, saw me clocking in late. “herald what your mother said/reading the books your father read/try to solve the puzzles in your own sweet time.”
